Let’s get to the core of the matter!

When I was six years old I had a boil on my knee. I don’t always remember things from when I was little but how does one forget a boil? I have never personally talked to anyone else who has had a boil, but I’m sure they are out there.

I remember my mother making a special poultice to draw out the core of the boil and I remember being in my first grade classroom and having my oldest brother come over from the high school to mix up the penicillin I had to drink. It was orange flavored. I think they thought I would think it tasted like Tang, it didn’t, it was a horrible, chalky, artificial orange flavored drink.  My brother had to make sure I drank it all even though I’m sure I was gagging, as I have a very easy gag reflex.

I remember so vividly the hole left in my knee once the core of the boil came out. It was freaky and yet so relieving, the pressure was released.

Let’s get to the core of the matter!

Insight for today: When there is something that is causing pain and anguish, there is no way around I have to wait for the core to come out and see it for what it really is.  It can be freaky, yet so relieving, and the pressure can be released!
