When Life is Hard, I’m Thankful for Friends!
When my daughter was little I thought I broke my ankle as I had tripped on the steps outside our apartment building. It immediately swelled up and turned black and blue. I had an X-ray and it was determined that I only severely sprained it, but the doctor stated that I would have been better off if I had broken it as it will take a long time to heal and I might have problems with it for a very long time.
During this time I was confined to bed for a week and using crutches to get around after that. My husband worked in downtown Chicago and we lived in the Northwest Suburbs, which meant he wouldn’t be around to help during the day.
Our downstairs neighbors were a young married couple and the wife was not working at the time. She blessed my daughter and myself during the days by making us lunch each day and helped entertain my daughter. I can’t begin to say how much that meant to me.
When life is hard, I’m thankful for friends!
This week has been a hard emotional week for me but I have been blessed by the treasure of friends who have prayed for me, bought me flowers or coffee, called or texted me to see how I’m doing.
Insight for today: In the midst of feeling black and blue inside, God has been taking care of me through those around me. Thank You!
Love you, Marcia. Keeping you in my prayers <3
