Wonder is wonderful!
Christmas time 1989 our daughter was two years old and so curious about everything. One afternoon after we laid her down for a nap, we broke out the Christmas decorations. We got the tree in place, fully decorated and we waited for our precious girl to wake up. She came out, pacifier in her mouth and blanket in her arms while we watched with such pleasure to see her experience true wonder. The moment she saw the tree all lit up her mouth gaped open, the pacifier fell and she dropped the blanket while a squeal of delight came from her that told the whole story.
The definition of wonder is a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable.
I watched another story of wonder unfold in front of my eyes today and that was from the gift of friendship. It was beautiful to watch as someone surprised a friend with a gift that was unexpected and to hear the joy that came from that.
Insight for today: Find a way to bring wonder into the lives of those around me, and don’t stop looking for the wonder others bring into my life!
