Finding Joy!
When our daughter was little my husband worked in downtown Chicago and everyday she would wait by the window so she could see when he drove up. She would always yell "Daddy's home" and then she would run to the door so she could hug him as soon as he came in. Her excitement was hard to contain. The joy of seeing her daddy was such a treasure to watch.
I remember when I was little my father was in bible college and working, so he was pretty busy. My mom told me when dad was in his study at home, I would lay by the door waiting for him to come out. Then when I was in 3rd grade I got an Easy Bake Oven and I would make my dad little cakes all the time. The church was right next to our house and there was an intercom system that went to his office. I would call him and ask if I could bring him something to the office and I would take my little cake or brownies over for him. He would always show such joy and excitement over this little dessert. It made me so happy.
Little things can bring joy!
Insight for today: I need to look for joy in the little things!
