Heading Home!

When I was in 3rd grade my family moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, a wonderful city surrounded by mountains.  We could look out our living room window and see the mountains in the distance.  I love the mountains and the cozy feeling they evoke for me.  There was a couple that were friends of my parents who had a cabin in the mountains that they would let my family use. Many things I don’t remember from back then, but what I do remember is one of the trips to the cabin my parents let us go on horseback rides through the mountains.  The horse I got only had one direction in mind and that was heading back to the stables.  Home for him was where he wanted to be.  Every time someone would grab the reins and walk me out past the stables, he would turn around and head back.  Funny at the time, but as I look back on it, it reminds me of how much I love to head home after a journey.

There is comfort in home!

Home can be a place or a person.  Home for me will always be wherever my husband is.  I feel safe in his arms and presence.
I am grateful for this tangible feeling of home with him.

Home is also my future! Home with my Lord and Savior, I feel safe in His arms and presence!

Insight for today: Be grateful for the gift of home and what it represents now and for the future!
